Does a CGM have a needle?
It’s estimated that 1 in 100 will bleed when applying a sensor to the arm.
In the diabetes community there’s a saying that ‘bleeders make the best readers’.
If you hit a blood vessel — it won’t be a vein as these are deeper than the needle and filament go into the skin — when the needle goes in, then it can spurt out blood. This should stop within a couple of minutes and should not affect the sensor’s ability to provide glucose levels, however messy it might look the readings for glucose levels should be fine.
