The short answer here is - perhaps.

However, a CGM is a tool and not used for diagnosis and there are many reasons why this wouldn’t be a reliable way to determine if a person does have diabetes.

That said, although originally developed as a medical device for people managing diabetes, an increasing number of athletes, sportspersons and others are now monitoring their glucose levels and this could alert the user to raised glucose levels which may turn out to be due to having diabetes.

In fact, doctors have recently noted an uprise in patients presenting on the basis that they’ve seen swings, spikes and/or crashes with their glucose levels.

Monitoring glucose certainly has the potential to highlight medical issues such as diabetes, but it isn’t conclusive that raised glucose levels will mean a diagnosis of the condition.
